Euro-Southeast Asia ICT Forum 2006
19 – 23 June 2006

The Euro-Southeast Asia Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Forum 2006, supported by the Delegation of the European Commission and ASEAN, will host more than 800 ICT players to foster business, research, policy and regulatory collaboration between Europe and Southeast Asia. It is the highlight of a series of events that the Delegation of the European Commission organized to showcase the granting opportunities of the Sixth European Framework Programme for Research and Technological Development (FP6) in Singapore and the region.

At the EUSEA conference, being held from 19 to 20 June, the major ICT players will discuss innovative ICT developments and explore future visions and strategies for the Euro-Southeast Asia ICT landscape. Training workshops and networking meetings parallel to the conference will offer stimulating platforms to share knowledge, renew contacts and create new cooperation opportunities between the two continents.

An additional attraction is the European ICT Pavilion at CommunicAsia, held at Singapore Expo from 20 to 23 June, showcasing an exciting sample of innovative and unique technologies, applications, solutions and products developed by a range of European innovators.

The Swiss House Singapore promoted EUSEA 2006 in Switzerland, in particular to Swiss universities and institutes of higher learning and research: more specifically, the Swiss Virtual Campus, a project of the Swiss Universities to promote e-learning at university level, ICTswitzerland, the umbrella organization of the major associations and organizations of the Swiss informatics and telecom sector, and CTI, the Swiss Innovation Promotion Agency. Among the Swiss participants, the Scientific Coordinator of the Center for Global Computing (CGC), an association of research groups and laboratories of the School of Computer and Communication Sciences at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL) will attend EUSEA 2006.
